Spring Tune Up - 4-Week Online Fitness & Well-Being Challenge


The Spring Tune Up Online Fitness Challenge is a 4-week virtual/online program running Monday, May 20th - June 16th.

This challenge is open to anyone, anywhere! 

  • virtual challenge - each week build your foundation with a new health and well-being focus (e.g., eating fruits and veggies, hydrating, sleep, etc.) 

  • 4 total body workouts (20 minutes) using your body weight or dumbbells as resistance

  • weekly check-ins with Jen, your health coach, via phone/Skype

  • private FaceBook group page to share your wins, ask questions, and celebrate your fabulousness!

  • video posted to our FaceBook page showing you how to do each of the weekly resistance/strength workouts

  • tips and resources to help you reach your goals

How it works: 
o    each week, you will earn points for doing activities related to the challenge (e.g., earn points for being active, staying hydrated, stretching, eating healthy, etc.)
o    at the end of each week, you’ll email your tracker
o    the team with the most points at the end of the challenge wins

Q: How do I participate if it's a virtual/online challenge?
A: You will be assigned to a team and receive a workbook with instructions for each of the weeks' focus areas, workout details, and scoring sheets. Videos of each of the workouts will be posted along with modifications for all levels. And, you will be added to a private Facebook Group page where you can share your questions and experience! Additionally, you will have weekly calls with your coach, Jen, who will answer any questions and help you fully customize your experience!

Q. Is this challenge just for building muscle, or can I do it for weight loss?
A: You will experience both! Whether you have some lbs. that you want to lose, or you want to tone up, this challenge is designed to help you feel confident, strong, and amazing!

Q: Do I have to have weights?
A: If you have weights, that's great! Each week, you'll be challenged to do a new workout, that will involve your body weight and weights as resistance. If you don't have weights/access to weights, no worries! Grab some gallon containers of H2O, and you'll be able to adjust your resistance! Or, fun fact: TJ MAXX and Marshall's of all places, usually have a good selection of 5-15# weights!

Q: How does the challenge work?
A: Each week has a well-being theme AND a workout. For every activity you do that corresponds to the theme of the week, you earn points for yourself and your team! We schedule 15 minute phone/Skype calls (between me and you) to see how you're doing, what challenges you're facing, and what you're looking forward to!

Q: What if I'm not very fit?
A: This challenge is all about you improving from where YOU'RE at! Modifications will be provided to make the workouts easier (or more challenging) depending on your level of fitness. 

Q: How much does it cost?
A: $80 for 4 weeks

Q: Do I have to know my team members? Do I have to recruit people to be a part of my team?
A: Nope! Most challenges have previous challenge participants on board who know each other from before, but it's OK if you are new. Over the course of the 4 weeks, you'll be making new fitness minded friends :) And, no, you do not need to recruit anyone to be on your team. Teams will be determined based on the final number of participants. You will randomly be assigned to a team. However, if you'd like to encourage other people to join, and they register using your name in the registration field, you'll receive $10 off the next challenge that you participate in!

Initially, I thought, how can communicating once a week with a trainer (without even seeing her) help me get in shape? I’m not a gym goer or a dieter; however, I like to be active, live a fairly healthy lifestyle, and I really enjoy the outdoors.... The Muscles by Memorial Day challenge was definitely helpful! I lost not only inches, but pounds, and my pants are no longer tight fitting. I feel more flexible and have a lot more energy. Jen was always available to help with any problem areas! She offered multiple ideas and solutions for my problem snacking! If I was unable to perform certain exercises, she offered suggestions for alternatives so I wouldn’t lose my momentum for that particular week.
